Shahrukh Khan in Vettayadu Vilayadu remake

There were strong rumours that Gautham Menon is planning to remake his 2006 blockbuster film 'Vettayadu Vilayadu' which starred Kamal Haasan in the lead role and also Prakash Raj.Now the latest we hear is that Kamal Haasan the lead actor of the first film has recommended Shahrukh Khan to take up the character.Kamal Haasan and Shahrukh Khan's friendship goes back to 2001 when the King Khan appeared in Kamal's 'Hey Ram' for free.

Gautham Menon also wants Shahrukh Khan to star in the remake and dismissed rumours of Salman Khan being a part of the film as he feels there has been too much police roles for Salman Khan lately and also feels SRK to be more apt for the role.Shahrukh Khan meanwhile seems to be in a dilemma to choose between AR Murugadoss's 'Ramana' remake and Gautham Menon's 'Vettayadu Vilayadu'
