Ek Deewana Tha is a hindi film starring Prateik Babbar and Amy Jackson directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and is the remake of the tamil film 'Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya' which had Simbu and Trisha Krishnan in the lead roles directed by Gautham Menon himself.The film also had a telugu version titled 'Ye Maaya Chesave' which had Nagachaitanya and Samantha in the lead roles.

Ek Deewana Tha has the same songs in tamil and telugu version dubbed to Hindi.The telugu and tamil versions had two different climax and it has to be seen which one Gautham would prefer for the Hindi audience.
