Adapted from yet another Mohanlal movie is Shortcut - The con is on.The film is inspired from Udayananu Tharam a Super hit Malayalam movie starring mohanlal as the protagonist.In Shortcut Akshay Khanna is playing the role of debutant director and Arshad Warsi that of an actor who cheats to make his way to films.The film has Amrita Rao playing the lead as Akshay Khanna's lover and wife.The film focusses on the happenings behind stars and Bollywood.The movie is all set for a july 10 release as of now.Produced by Anil Kapoor Films Production and directed by Neeraj Vora of Phir Hera Pheri fame, the film will be released globally on July 10, 2009.
Kapoor said that initially he wanted to work in the film but opted out as he felt he would not be able to justify his role as a producer.
